  1. Hello everyone! As some of you may know, we ended our last test on August 7 which was exclusively on Android: so after almost 2 months of testing, what's to say? During this period, over 1300 players participated to the test, 3972 quests were completed and 4 players reached level 10: congratulations @Reeser, @DilBert, @TORRES and @Lismo! Everyone started in the Dank camp, and so will you once the closed Alpha is out. This will be your home in Naïca for the closed Alpha. Over the course of the test, we made several changes to the game. First, monsters were way too hard (yes, again...) so we reduced their damage and health points a bit. All monsters were aggressive (a.k.a. they attacked players on sight) and we decided to let only a handful of monsters that way. You can now walk around the swamp (or even go AFK) without the fear of being attacked by dozens of monsters. This is exactly how it felt like for players (and for us too). The dungeon was the most tricky part but in the end we decided to relieve the complexity a bit. At first the dungeon has 3 rooms: 2 normal rooms and the boss room (Pupuce). By playing with other players we noticed it was a bit uneasy for new players to complete it and sometimes they would just give up. Because we already know we will add an option to increase the difficulty of the dungeon, we removed the 2nd room. For players who just want to do the dungeon to get a taste of this feature and see what it's like, they won't have this fear of getting bored, killed again and again or won't even try it because it's too long. Pupuce, the boss of the dungeon (Credits: @Skēto). On the other hand, the players who love challenges and wish to sweat blood and tears could increase the difficulty by setting the dungeon in Elite 1 and see how it goes with stronger monsters and 3 rooms instead of 2 in Elite 0. The Elite feature won't be available at the launch of the closed Alpha but it is something we aim to release later on. We are extremely happy about the test and players feedback. It is heartwarming and we are excited to show you the game in a few months! Also we learnt that walking around and discovering the area was the second favorite things for players: you will definitely have to walk a lot when you will be looking for these crystal pages... Thank you again for your support and your feedback: our next step is the closed Alpha which will launch in the next months!
  2. Hello everyone! As you may have seen in our newsletter a few weeks back, we are working on the UI for PC. As you can see, many things have change but it works in the same way. You will find your 5 differents actions, your items bar and we added a minimap to improve your adventure in Naïca. Minimap is a mandatory feature for MMORPGs on PC and we are looking if we can add it to the mobile version. Nothing sure for now, since we do not want to have too much information on your User Interface and we do not know if it's extremely useful on mobile. While developing it, we have had some issues with the drag and drop for short cuts menus but it's now resolved (thank you devs). In fact, in PC, you will be able to customize your short cuts bar to optimize your gaming experience. We will gladly listen to your feedback once you lay hand on the PC version of Naïca! Desde a nossa última newsletter, algumas coisas aconteceram para o Naïca: estivemos na DreamHack Tours em Maio, avançamos lenta mas firmemente no lado do som e da música e lançamos uma grande fase de testes para o Naïca. DREAMHACK TOURS 2019 Graças à região Centro-Val de Loire fomos convidados para o DreamHack Tours 2019 e tivemos um lugar no seu stand. Foi um pouco pequeno, mas no entanto muito eficaz! Durante os três dias do evento, vimos jogadores de todas as idades experimentarem o Naïca no PC e no celular, o que nos permitiu obter um retorno muito interessante. Uma das coisas que realmente não sabíamos antes de deixar os jogadores tentarem Naïca era: onde os jogadores vão primeiro? Nós assumimos que uma vez que eles aparecessem no mapa, eles falariam com o chefe do Campo à esquerda e pegariam a primeira missão, mas não. Quase todos correram para a direita, para as águas profundas (o que os impede de ir mais longe). Então Nico, nosso Level Designer, fez algumas edições no mapa que agora permitem que você saia do Acampamento úmido pelo lado direito da ilha! O velho Acampamento úmido O novo Acampamento úmido SONS E MÚSICA Alex, nosso designer de som, começará a trabalhar nos sons de Naïca em julho: ele já fez um monte deles que tivemos o prazer de ouvir! O primeiro rascunho que enviamos a ele tinha aproximadamente 100 sons, o que pode aumentar. A outra coisa que você pode ouvir enquanto joga Naïca é, claro, a música. Gabriel já fez alguns títulos e recentemente encerrou o tema principal da Naïca! Você vai descobrir em breve ... Enquanto isso, você não estará de mãos vazias, já que você já pode ouvir Addlebog's song e Lost path, que você ouvirá no pântano de Lazul: ÚLTIMO PASSO ANTES DO ALFA FECHADO Estamos bem no último passo! Algumas semanas atrás, começamos uma grande fase de teste dando acesso ao jogo para 900 jogadores selecionados. Isso nos permite ter feedback direto e corrigir a maioria dos problemas enfrentados pelos jogadores antes do Alpha fechado. Nossos testes anteriores duraram apenas algumas horas (1-3h) e esta é a primeira vez que temos servidores abertos 24 horas por dia, sete dias por semana. Nós experimentamos algumas falhas e bugs, mas estamos a corrigindo-os ao longo do caminho: por exemplo, o monstro Bildaya estava imune a danos e você não podia entrar na arena nem na masmorra. Nossa primeira masmorra tem algumas surpresas reservadas para você, com Pupuce como grand finale, um sapo gigantesco esperando sua chegada. Pupuce Nas próximas semanas, haverá muita correção, patch e adicionaremos novos recursos para facilitar a jogabilidade dos jogadores (mas não tornar o jogo mais fácil, apenas mais fácil de jogar e entender). Esta grande fase de testes durará até meados de agosto e nos permitirá mostrar uma versão melhor e mais suave do jogo para o Alpha fechado. Nós anunciaremos sua data de lançamento em breve. MAIS UMA COISA Também começamos a trabalhar na versão iOS do Naïca e na interface PC / Mac: um passo após o outro, estamos de fato nos aproximando do lançamento Alpha fechado! Desde nuestro último boletín, algunas cosas han pasado en Naïca: hemos estado en la DreamHack de Tours, hemos empezado a trabajar lenta pero progresivamente en el sonido y la música del juego y hemos lanzado una gran fase de prueba para el juego. DREAMHACK TOURS 2019 Gracias a la región de Centre-Val de Loire, nosotros fuimos invitados a la DreamHack Tours 2019 y tuvimos una plaza en la zona del evento. Fue un poco pequeña, ¡pero efectiva! Durante los 3 días del evento, hemos visto a jugadores de todas las edades probar Naïca tanto en PC como en móvil, lo cual nos permitió obtener muchas opiniones e información al respecto. Una de las cosas que nosotros no sabíamos antes de dejar que los jugadores entraran era: ¿dónde irán los jugadores primero? Nosotros asumimos que, una vez que los jugadores aparecieran en el mapa, ellos hablarían directamente con el jefe del campamento a la izquierda para tomar las primeras misiones... pero no. Casi todos los jugadores se dirigieron directamente hacia la derecha, dentro de las aguas profundas del pantano (impidiéndoles avanzar más). Así que Nico, nuestro Diseñador de Niveles, ha hecho algunos cambios en el mapa que permitirán a los jugadores poder abandonar el Campamento húmedo a través del lado derecho de la isla. El viejo Campamento húmedo El nuevo Campamento húmedo SONIDOS Y MÚSICA Alex, nuestro diseñador de sonido, comenzará a trabajar en los sonidos de Naïca en julio: ¡ya ha hecho un montón de ellos, los cuales tuvimos el placer de escuchar! El primer borrador que le enviamos tenía aproximadamente 100 sonidos, los cuales seguramente aumentarán a medida que profundicemos en ellos. La otra cosa que podréis escuchar mientras juegan Naïca es, por supuesto, la música. ¡Gabriel ya ha hecho algunos títulos y recientemente ha cerrado el tema principal de Naïca! No os preocupéis, puesto que no os vamos a dejar con las manos vacías ya que podéis escuchar Addlebog's song y Lost path, la cual estará ubicada en el pantano de Lazul: ÚLTIMOS PASOS ANTES DE LA ALPHA CERRADA ¡Estamos en el último paso! Hace unas semanas, comenzamos una gran fase de prueba al dar acceso al juego a 900 jugadores seleccionados. Esto nos permite tener comentarios directos y solucionar la mayoría de los problemas que enfrentan los jugadores antes de la Alpha cerrada. Nuestras pruebas anteriores duraron solo unas pocas horas (1-3 h) y esta es la primera vez que tenemos servidores abiertos las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana. Sufrimos algunas caídas y errores graves, pero no hemos parado de detectarlos y arreglarlos: por ejemplo, el monstruo Bildaya era inmune a los daños y los jugadores eran incapaces de entrar a la arena ni a la mazmorra. Nuestra primera mazmorra tiene algunas sorpresas para vosotros, con Pupuce como jefe final: una rana gigantesca esperando vuestra llegada. Pupuce En las próximas semanas habrá muchos arreglos, parches y agregaremos nuevas características para facilitar el juego para los jugadores (pero no facilitaremos el juego en sí, sino que lo haremos más fácil de jugar y entender). Esta gran fase de prueba durará hasta mediados de Agosto y nos permitirá mostraros una versión mejor y más fluida del juego para la Alpha cerrada. Anunciaremos su fecha de lanzamiento próximamente. UNA COSA MÁS También hemos empezado a trabajar en la versión iOS de Naïca y la interfaz para PC y Mac: un paso tras otro, ¡nos estamos acercando al lanzamiento de la Alpha cerrada! Depuis notre dernière newsletter, plusieurs choses sont arrivées pour Naïca : nous avons été à la DreamHack Tours en mai, nous avons progressé doucement mais sûrement sur la partie musique & sons et nous avons lancé une longue phase de test pour Naïca. DREAMHACK TOURS 2019 Grâce à la région Centre-Val de Loire nous avons été invités à la DreamHack Tours 2019 et nous avons eu un emplacement sur leur stand. L'endroit était un peu petit, mais néanmoins très efficace ! Durant les trois jours de l'évènement, nous avons vu des joueurs de tout âge jouer à Naïca à la fois sur PC et mobile, qui nous ont permis d'avoir beaucoup de retours intéressants. L'une des choses que nous ne savions pas vraiment avant de laisser des joueurs essayer Naïca était : où les joueurs iront-ils en premier ? Nous pensions qu'une fois apparus sur la carte ils voudraient parler au Chef de camp sur la gauche et prendre la première quête, mais non. La quasi-totalité d'entre-eux a foncé directement vers la droite et s'est heurté à l'eau profonde (qui vous empêche d'aller plus loin). En conséquence Nico, notre Level Designer, a apporté quelques modifications à la carte, vous permettant désormais de quitter le Camp humide par le côté droit de l'île ! L'ancien Camp humide Le nouveau Camp humide SONS ET MUSIQUE Alex, notre sound designer, commencera à travailler sur les sons de Naïca en juillet : il a déjà créé quelques sons que nous avons eu le plaisir d'entendre ! La première liste que nous lui avons envoyé comportait approximativement une centaine de sons, liste qui va probablement s'allonger une fois que nous nous pencherons dessus. L'autre chose que vous pourrez entendre pendant que vous jouerez à Naïca est, bien sûr, la musique. Gabriel a déjà réalisé quelques titres et a récemment terminé le thème principal de Naïca, que vous découvrirez bientôt... En attendant vous ne serez pas les mains vides puisque vous pouvez dès à présent écouter Addlebog's song et Lost path, que vous entendrez dans le marais de Lazul : DERNIÈRE ÉTAPE AVANT L'ALPHA FERMÉE Nous sommes en plein dans la dernière étape ! Il y a quelques semaines, nous avons débuté une grosse phase de test en donnant accès au jeu à 900 joueurs sélectionnés. Cela nous permet d'avoir des retours directs et de régler la majorité des problèmes rencontrés par les joueurs avant l'Alpha fermée. Nos tests précédents duraient seulement quelques heures (1 à 3h) et c'est la première fois que nos serveurs sont ouverts en continu. Nous avons eu quelques crashs et quelques bugs mais nous les corrigeons au fur et à mesure : par exemple, le monstre Bildaya était insensible aux dégâts et il n'était pas possible d'entrer en arène ni en donjon. Notre premier donjon vous réserve quelques surprises avec comme grand final Pupuce, une grenouille gigantesque qui n'attend que votre arrivée. Pupuce Dans les semaines à venir il y aura beaucoup de choses à réparer, mettre à jour et nous allons ajouter de nouvelles fonctionnalités pour faciliter le gameplay aux joueurs (et non rendre le jeu plus simple, uniquement plus facile à jouer et à comprendre). Cette longue phase de test continuera jusqu'à mi-août et nous permettra de vous montrer une version de meilleure qualité et plus aboutie de l'Alpha fermée. Nous vous annoncerons sa date de sortie prochainement. UNE DERNIÈRE CHOSE Nous avons aussi commencé à travailler sur la version iOS de Naïca ainsi que sur l'interface PC/Mac ! Since our last newsletter, a few things have happened for Naïca: we have been to the DreamHack Tours in May, we slowly but steadily progressed on the sound & music side and we launched a big testing phase for Naïca. DREAMHACK TOURS 2019 Thanks to the region Centre-Val de Loire we were invited to the DreamHack Tours 2019 and had a place on their stand. It was a bit small, but very effective nonetheless! During the three days of the event, we have seen players from all kind of ages try Naïca both on PC and mobile, which allowed us to get a lot of interesting feedback. One of the thing we didn't really know before letting players try Naïca was: where will players go first? We assumed once they spawn on the map they would speak to the Camp chief on the left and take the first quest but no. Almost all of them rushed straight to the right, into the deep water (which prevent them to go further). So Nico, our Level Designer, made some edits on the map which now allow you to leave the Dank Camp by the right side of the island! The old Dank camp The new Dank Camp SOUND AND MUSIC Alex, our sound designer, will start working on the sounds of Naïca in July: he already made a bunch of them which we had the pleasure to listen to! The first draft we sent him had roughly a 100 sounds, which may increase as we dive into it. The other thing you'll be able to listen while playing Naïca is, of course, the music. Gabriel has already done a few titles and has recently wrapped up the main theme of Naïca! You will discover it soon... In the meantime, you won't be empty handed since you can already listen to Addlebog's song and Lost path, which you will hear in the swamp of Lazul: LAST STEP BEFORE THE CLOSED ALPHA We are at the last step! A few weeks back, we started a big test phase by giving access to the game to 900 selected players. This allows us to have direct feedback and fix most of the issues faced by players before the closed Alpha. Our previous tests lasted only for a few hours (1-3h) and this is the first time we have had servers open 24/7. We experienced some crashes & bugs but we are fixing them along the way: for example, the monster Bildaya was immune to damages and you couldn't get into the arena nor the dungeon. Our first dungeon has a few surprises in store for you, with Pupuce as grand finale, a gigantic frog waiting for your arrival. Pupuce In the coming weeks there will be a lot of fixing, patching, and we will be adding new features to ease the gameplay for players (but not making the game itself easier, just easier to play & to understand). This big test phase will last until mid-August and will allow us to show you a better, smoother version of the game for the closed Alpha. We will announce its release date soon. ONE MORE THING We also started to work on the iOS version of Naïca and the PC/Mac interface : one step after another, we are indeed getting closer to the closed Alpha release!   18. Hello everyone, it's been a while! Since the last post, a lot of things happened for Naïca and this is mainly due to the preparation of our big test phase prior to the closed Alpha. We launched it this week with a few selected players in order to have direct feedback, and fix most of the servers issues & bugs. The best news out of this is it's working better than expected. Our previous tests lasted only for a few hours (2-3h) and this is the first time we have had servers open 24/7. We experienced some crashes & bugs but we are fixing them along the way: for example, monsters didn't work correctly (they had only 1 attack instead of 2) and you couldn't get into the arena nor into the dungeon. This works totally fine now, don't worry! But, we kinda forgot to put Pupuce, the dungeon boss, level 7 so she was level 1 for the first teams going in the dungeon... And they couldn't loot her but this is going to be fixed today so no biggie. Great news for everyone right? In the coming weeks there will be a lot of fixing, patching, and we will be adding new features to ease the gameplay for players (but not making the game itself easier, just easier to play & to understand). This way, we'll have a great closed Alpha to show you all guys! We hope you'll like this longer post which embraces an important step for us before the launch of the closed Alpha, still planned for the coming months!
